Source to Screen: Benbow Youth Film Collective (16-19 year olds)

The Benbow Youth Film Collective is your chance to join a group of young people aged 16-19 on a journey into film.

Source Park

This term, the BYFC is taking part in a month-long documentary filmmaking project with Source Park skatepark and A Curious Agenda. You will learn about the art of the documentary and make your own short films capturing the culture, stories and spirit of the skate community at Source Park. Your films will be screened at a special pop up cinema event at Source Park in May half term.

Led by award winning documentary film-maker and stunt rider, Ross Domoney.


Join us for a free introductory taster at Source to Screen Takeover’ at Source Park on Saturday 19 April 12-5pm.

BYFC: Wednesdays 4.30 – 6.30pm

Sign up for the four-week project:

  • 30 April - Preparation Week
    Meet Ross Domoney, watch some documentary examples and practice exercises
  • 7 May - Skills Week
    You will train in technical skills and do some pre-production planning: research, storyboarding and interview preparation/practice
  • 14 May - Filming Week
    On-site filming at Source Park, capturing youth and girls-only skateboarding sessions. Interview skaters, staff and community members
  • 21 May - Post-Production Week
    Back at the Benbow Arts Space preparing for the A Curious Town screening event, editing footage, music scoring and sound design.

£36 for a four week course.
