Benbow Youth Film Collective (16-19 year olds)

The Benbow Youth Film Collective is your chance to join a group of young people aged 16-19 on a journey into film. This term we will take a deep dive into film animation.

We’ll have a number of industry professionals visit us over the weeks who will share their experience and skills on topics like character development, writing for animation, technical animation skills, and recording voices and sound effects. You’ll have the chance to work on animations with other members of the groups and the sessions will end with a screening of your creations for friends and family.

Whatever your level of experience, if you are interested in animation specifically or film-making more generally, this is the course for you. You can either book onto the whole 9-week term or drop in for the sessions that are of particular interest to you.

The course will be run by our Film Programme Learning Leader, Will Davies. Will is an experienced film maker and educator, with a specialism in sound recording. He has filmed in over 25 countries and is co-director of local production company, Whalebone Films. Joining Will over the six weeks, will be a range of industry professionals who will share their skills and experiences with you.

You'll explore cinema's past in our early cinema exhibition and get the skills to help you shape its future!

Includes snacks.

Dates
Thursdays, 5-7pm
From 3 October to 5 December (no session on 31 Oct for half term)

£75 per nine-week course or £9 per session drop in (payment on the door). Please note that drop-ins must book for a drop-in registration on the ticket options so that we can collect the necessary information prior to arrival. Payment on door can be by card or cash. To help spread the cost you can pay for the course in two instalments of £37.50 each.

Please be aware that after you make the ticket booking there are some important questions that we need to be completed to sign up for the course.
