This fun and interactive musical workshop and film screening will feature contributions from your good elves… sorry, selves.  It starts with a vocal warm-up, preparing the chorister within for the unforgettable Walking in the Air sequence.

The Enchanted Cinema performers then ask for help with sound FX for different images seen in the film (hint – there’s an owl, a toothbrush, a whale, the sea, a musical box, a running tap, and a tearaway motorbike to name just a few).  You’ll use FX brought in by you or using your voice. The 30-min workshop is followed by a full screening of Dianne Jackson’s magical animation (also 30 mins), after which audiences of all ages are invited to come up and meet the performers and even try out their instruments.

Our museum halls will be decked with twinkly lights, there will be a craft station where you’ll make something to take home, there will be a tiny gift for children, and our café will be serving seasonal treats and snacks. You may even come across a surprise visitor amongst our exhibits…

The Enchanted Cinema are live cinema musicians, Gareth & Kieron, who create fun and interactive participatory events to a century of beautiful hand-crafted animation.

"Thanks so much for a truly amazing show - I absolutely love what you do. It’s just so unique and in a world of CGI and flashy 3D animation, the beautiful, textual, thought provoking world you opened the children up to was very special and memorable." Róisín - audience/ participant, The Enchanted Cinema.
