We are in a rural location which is not served by public transport, so travel is by car or bike. We have a car park on site and cycle rack. Stonestile Lane is a twisty single lane road. The approach from Stonestile Lane to the Barn Theatre and Museum is a single lane farm track with 3 vehicle passing places.

 

Free Wi-Fi

We have free wifi on site – please ask for the password on arrival. Telephone signal can be patchy dependent on your network provider.

Café

We have a café on-site but it does not operate as a public café at present. We have an honesty box for hot drinks but no food or drink can be purchased unless at special events, such as our family festival.

Baby Change and Feeding

We have baby change facilities located within the accessible toilet. A highchair is available upon request. We can heat food or milk upon request.

Parking for disabled people

We have dedicated disabled parking bays and drop-off point next to the Museum entrance. On arrival please follow signs.

Outside space

The external floor surface from the disabled parking area and around the Barn Theatre and Museum is flagstone. The venue is set within 24 acres of land which includes a large pond and orchard. There is a grass lawn and some areas of rougher grass.

BSL Interpreter

If you require a BSL Interpreter to enable you to take part in our activities, please let us know in advance so that we can arrange – ideally with one month notice. 

Wheelchair accessible toilet

We have one wheelchair accessible toilet in the foyer between the museum and theatre. It has a left hand transfer layout. 

Assistance dogs

All assistance and sensory support dogs are welcome. Water bowls are available upon request. 

Induction loop

An induction loop is installed in the theatre.

Visual Story

We have a visual story of the museum that can be shared in advance to help prepare visitors, particularly those who are autistic and those who are neurodiverse.

Moving around the internal space

The museum is fully wheelchair accessible. There are two sloped areas with gradient 1:14. Some doors have a lip at the threshold. 
There is a separate step-free wheelchair accessible entrance to access the theatre, as the main entrance has a narrow doorway and one step. Staff will be on-hand to direct you.

If you would like an audio described tour of the museum, please let us know in advance of your visit – ideally with one months notice

Quiet Space

The Barn Theatre and Museum is set in a beautiful rural location that is very quiet. We have a quiet space available separate to the museum and theatre if required. Please let us know in advance if you think this may be required.
