We look forward to welcoming you to the Benbow Arts Space situated in the heart of St Leonards-on-Sea. The venue is a creative learning hub dedicated to the art of filmmakig, where young people can discover their passion for cinema, develop skills and begin their journey into the film industry.

The building is located on London Road, just two doors up from the Seafront.

Public Transport

The Benbow is a 5-minute walk from St Leonards Warrior Square Railway Station (Southern and Southeastern trains).  London Road is served by buses number 20, 22, 

Parking

There is no parking on site. There is free parking around two sides of Warrior Square (5-minute walk).  Please note that the parking along the bottom end of Warrior Square (closest to the seafront) is subject to a two-hour restriction. Alternatively Crystal Square car park is a 3-minute walk away (maximum stay 4 hours).

Free Wi-Fi

We have free wifi on site – please ask for the password on arrival. 

Food & Drink

There are many great cafés and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Please ask for recommendations.

Baby Change

We have baby change facilities located within the accessible toilet.

Lift

We have a lift to take those who are unable to use the stairs to our first floor.

Visual Story

We have a visual story of the space that can be shared in advance to help prepare visitors, particularly those who are autistic and those who are neurodiverse.

BSL Interpreter

If you require a BSL Interpreter to enable you to take part in our activities, please let us know in advance so that we can arrange – ideally with one month notice. 

Wheelchair accessible toilet

We have a wheelchair accessible toilet on the ground floor. It has a left hand transfer layout. 

Assistance dogs

All assistance and sensory support dogs are welcome. Water bowls are available upon request. 

Induction loop

An induction loop is installed in the theatre.

Moving around the internal space

The ground floor exhibition space is fully wheelchair accessible. There are two sloped areas with gradient 1:14. Some doors have a lip at the threshold. 
There is a lift to the first floor and the first floor function room is fully wheelchair accessible. Staff will be on-hand to direct you.

Audio Description

If you would like an audio described tour of the museum, please let us know in advance of your visit – ideally with one months notice

Quiet Space

We arrange 'quiet sessions' before any public performances.  Please let us know in advance if you think this may be required.
