The Bright Foundation is very grateful to its generous founder, John Bright. John has provided the vital seed funding to establish our two professional creative venues, to launch the charity and to build our networks and programmes.
However to continue making an incredible impact on children and young people’s lives through arts, filmmaking and creativity we need to expand our funding base.
We don’t receive any statutory funding so we depend on the kindness of other supporters, including charitable trusts, individual donors, and corporate partners, to make our programmes possible. Hastings is currently the 13th most deprived borough in the UK and has the highest rate of child poverty in the South East, with 23% of households living below the poverty line*. We believe that every child deserves access to arts and culture, regardless of their background.
