On 2 February our BFI Film Academy students attended the premier screening event for all the BFI Film Academy students from across the South East at the Curson Bloomsbury.
In October, the students, all aged between 16 to 19, spent a week working alongside industry professionals to make a film in a week. Through a series of workshops, masterclasses, and practical sessions, participants gained invaluable insights into the industry. The course was led by award-winning film industry professionals, Nick Pilton and Rebecca E Marshall. Participants received talks and masterclasses from Andrew Kotting, Jaine Green, Jess O’Kane, Harry Baker, and Tony Grisoni.
Over the course of the week the students worked as a team to produce a short film shot on Glynde Gap Beach. Their short film, 'Mother', was among seven other films screened at the event.
Afterwards, the students were excit4ed to meet an Academy Award winner in John Bright!
