The Benbow Youth Film Collective is your chance to join a group of young people aged on a journey into film!

Starting again on 1st October 2025, the BYFC meets on Wednesdays between 4:30 and 6:30pm.

The courses are run by our Film Programme Learning Leader, Will Davies. Will is an experienced film maker and educator, with a specialism in sound recording. He has filmed in over 25 countries and is co-director of local production company, Whalebone Films. Will is joined by Guest Creatives and Industry Professionals from the world of film.

During this 9-week term of the Benbow Youth Film Collective, you will be taken on a filmmaking journey. 

Filmmaking is a collaborative process so working together with others and supported by our staff team you’ll come up with ideas for a film, shoot it and edit it.  Will you decide to create an animation? a whimsical fantasy? or perhaps a gritty black and white thriller? Maybe you’ll decide you want to add some music. How about some sound effects?  Our team will be here to inspire you with a range of filmmaking techniques which you can use.  

Bring your enthusiasm and any ideas you have for stories you’d like to tell or images you’d like to create.

The course will conclude with a family and friends screening of all the films being created on 11  December.

Cost
£80 for the term
