In July, we invited imaginative creatives aged 11–15 to reinvent a classic tale at the Benbow Arts Space.

The challenge? Take a well-known story and give it a twist — make it gothic, add influencer drama, or transform it into something completely unexpected.

Throughout the week, the budding filmmakers worked with real industry professionals to explore set design, costume, lighting, camera techniques, special effects, and more. On the penultimate day, they dove into editing and sound design workshops to bring their visions to life.

Three very different and truly imaginative films were produced:

• A Film Noir take on Goldilocks and the Three Bears
• A sci-fi spin on Little Red Riding Hood (featuring an alien!)
• And a Jack and the Beanstalk complete with a dragon

Each film showcased fantastic creativity, clever techniques, and impressive performances — not to mention stunning sets and visual effects!

The week concluded with a special Friday screening, where friends and family joined us to celebrate the filmmakers’ creations.
