by Long Nose Puppets
We're very grateful to our Young Ambassador Star, who volunteered with us for Out of the Hat!
She also wrote this rather lovely review of the performance...
"It’s always such a pleasure to volunteer at The Bright Foundation - from wandering the museum to taking part in the workshops, and of course watching the shows (which are always fabulous) in the cosy Barn Theatre, it’s impossible for me not to feel happy while I’m there! Seeing how much everyone enjoys themselves too, especially children, is so wonderful to experience.
As always, Long Nose Puppets put on a flawless performance of a wonderful story, this time a little more magical than usual, following the tale of Doris and Delilah, two daring feathered friends who find a very special sparkly seed and put on a magic show, with the help of a debonair Madagascan moth, a jazzy band of frogs, an arty spider and an informative stick-insect.
They encounter lots of challenges along the way but never give up, even in the trickiest times, and succeed in pulling off a truly marvellous show! I thought this show was on an even higher level than previous shows I’ve seen by Long Nose, with much more detail, fantastic special effects and very catchy songs. It was so thrilling when the flickering fireflies and glowworm began to sing and dance as the lights went out and I especially loved the burst of confetti at the show’s end (much to the excitement of younger audience members!)"
After the show the children met the puppeteers and the puppets and were able to ask questions. There was a creative workshop where they created some wonderful pop-up puppets of their own!
